A connecting flight through Moscow in winter?

Question by Skyman211: Do you think its worth it to take a connecting flight through Moscow during Dec/January?
I found a very cheap flight to Cairo that connects in Moscow. But…. Ive heard that because it snows so much there that I could be stuck waiting at the airport due to delays/ cancellations. Can anyone find stats about delay time/cancellations out of Moscow. Do you think its worth a $ 300 price break to risk the possible setbacks?

Well, it’s probably not that bad, Moscow is a busy city and it will probably be the fastest way to get to Egypt.

A little off-topic, but…just like NYC and LA, Moscow has a few airports. The main ones are Sheremetyevo (SVO) and Domodedovo (DME). I may have spelled them wrong, but the airport codes are correct. Before deciding on this, I'd make sure you're aware of whether or not your flights all go in/out of the same airport. Getting from SVO to DME, or vice-versa, can take hours, what with the traffic, having to change from one bus to another, etc.

I would look at it as I get to go to Moscow. Maybe I will be delayed and get to spend some time there. Of course if you travel a lot then you might not think so. I never been to Moscow and would really enjoy spending a few hours there. I would go to Moscow. Good luck
