Question by Lost = awesome: What is a good Chekhov scene for a guy and a girl.?
I am in an acting class. And my partner and I need a good, meaty Chekhov scene to perform. Any suggestions?

A Marriage Proposal by Chekhov. It’s a short one-act, but it’s really adorable. It’s about this older guy who wants to ask his neighbor for his daughter’s hand in marriage, but he is so nervous he can barely speak. Then that leads to a miscommunication, etc. In the end, after all the hilarity, they realize they’ve been in love all along.

I wish I could remember where it falls in the play, but it's the scene in The Sea Gull where the girl eventually yells out "I'm a sea gull!" It's a powerful scene in the hands of skilled actors.
