Question by delia: Is there any application which can translate or transliterate FILENAMES of Russian mp3s into English?
I don’t read Cyrillic well, so I would like to transliterate the filenames of all the Russian mp3s I have into the Roman alphabet and possibly translate them into English also. I have hundreds of them (entire discographies of Leningrad and Kino). Please help, I did this for 4 or 5 Kino albums and I don’t think I can do anymore without smoking a bunch of meth for fuel.

There are transliteration programs which should be adequate, such as
If you want to translate the titles, however, you’ll need to light up some more meth. Translation programs aren’t able to capture the meaning of the song titles. Therefore, you would end up with a lot of misleading, meaningless jibberish.
Besides, how do you translate, or even transliterate for that matter, Leningrad’s “www.leningrad.spb.ru”? (Sorry, it’s a good song, I had to work it in somewhere!)
Or, better yet, learn Cyrillic. Seriously, with a little dedication you could have it down in less than a week. Plus, if you ever get to Russia to see any shows, you’ll need Cyrillic to get off at the right meto stop…
