you can get a chines ak for about $ 400 and as long as there not stamped there great guns we got a $ 800 mini 30 by ruger and it will only fire certain round but the ak will fire just about any thing you put in it

No such thing as a “good” ak. You payed WHAT!!! That is way too much. You got robbed, probably $ 300 would have been a bit over priced, at cabela’s, they are around $ 275

I dont know anyone who has exposure to the Bulgarian model but I would say it must be good quality if you paid $ 700.00 for it.
there are a lot of variants for the AK and there are pros and cons to all of them but whichever one you buy if you find something you dont like about it you can buy replacement parts to customise it to the level you desire..
I have customised mine a great deal and am very happy with it..
