Question by David: What is the best book about the Russian Revolution?
I’ve been looking for more than a year for a book explaining events that lead to the Russian Revolution of 1917 but what I’ve found so far I can’t find anything clear and concise.
Please help!

Probably none. You have to realize that the best books could be written by the witnesses of these events. You would have to dig through piles of books to get your personal understanding of the events.

There are many excellent books on the revolutions in Russia Most cover the events of the 1905 revolution and the February and October revolutions of 1917.
My favourite books on the subject are:
The October Revolution by Roy Medvedev for a really insightful analysis of the events of the February Revolution.
The Russian Revolution by Sheila Fitzpatrick
The Soviet Union 1917 – 1991 by Martin McCauley
Lenin, A Biography by Robert Service
The Communist Party Of the Soviet Union by Leonard Shapiro
and Soviet Politics 1917 – 1991 by Mary Macauley (this is really short and really explains the events clearly)
