Can you drink vodka the day after getting your wisdom teeth pulled?

Question by : Is it okay to drink vodka the day after getting your wisdom teeth pulled?
I am getting my wisdom teeth pulled early Friday morning, then I’m going out drinking Saturday night. I will not be taking the painkillers so I just want to make sure it isn’t too dangerous. Will it dissolve the stiches? I’m drinking vodka so will it burn really badly? I need someone who’s had experience with this to tell me how it went?

You are not supposed to consume alcohol or smoke after extraction. Alcohol consumption interferes with healing process of tooth extraction socket. It would be better to take some juices or smoothies after extraction but don’t take them with straw. Alcohol may also interfere with pain meds and antibiotics given. For more info on tooth extraction aftercare, refer to….. http://www.identalhub.com/article_do%27s-and-don%27ts-after-tooth-extraction-153.aspx

It’s not really a good idea – it can interfere with healing, & you could end up with a dry socket, which is very painful. It’s recommended not to drink any alcohol until 72 hours after surgery.

Check out the link below – good info.
