Question by : Can you own an AK 47 gun in California and what specifications?
I want to buy an AK 47 and have it shipped with no clip. Then get a small one when it gets here. There is also a 2nd grip in the front of the gun I think needs to be removed to be legal. Please let me know if you know about the california laws for getting / having an AK47 -Thanks

You can’t legally ship any gun to California unless it is through an FFL dealer. The FFL dealer can’t legally sell it to you unless it is a legal gun.
Removing the magazine and pistol grip isn’t good enough. You will have to buy a post-ban model such as a WASR with the bayonet lug cut off and no threaded barrel. They come with a stock that goes over the pistol grip area and kind of look like a mini dragonuv. They also do not accept high capacity magazines at all because the mag well isn’t wide enough to accept them.

Why not just walk into a gun store and buy one like normal people?

An AK-47 is an assault rifle.Purchase one and then wave it a cop.
