Could the US negotiate with the USSR to demolish the Berlin Wall?

Question by TheOneAndNotTheOnly: How could the US have negotiated with the USSR to demolish the Berlin Wall?
What things could the US give to the USSR to demolish the wall? Assuming this is in the 1960s-1970s. I have an in-class debate and I need to know how to persuade the USSR to demolish the wall.
Is there anything at all that the USSR needed during this era?

Nothing. The USSR was not about to demolish that wall in the time period you mention. To the contrary, they were still intent on taking over the entire world, and our only answer was to keep a 24/7 umbrella of Air Force bombers airborne, all uploaded with nukes. Those were dangerous times for this world, and the Soviets were not real big on giving anything up to the West.
