Tolstoj wrote his epic novel on historical factures.
The war, and the more important fact il character Pier Bestuzev
and he was Masson.

no he didn't miss any details and even if he had it still wouldn't have mattered because it had such an impact on people who read it that no one would have noticed or cared if there was something incorrect.
