Question by concernedmanager: Where can I find out about disabled person care in Russia?
My father in law just lost his wife and can not live completely alone. If we bring him to the US, he will loose his health care coverage (universal in Russia) which we can not afford the insurance plus deductibles and medication. However, Russian government health care nursing homes is not to the standard I would want him to be in. He has no family that can take care of him. I am looking for a “retirement community” like atmosphere or another alternative or even a person that can cook a meal and check on him…any help would be appreciated.

The best type of care for a disabled person is a very, very deep grave.

There are Assisted Care Facilities (ACF) that you might want to check into. They are not nursing homes and the person is encouraged to be independent as much as possible and the person will be checked on a regular basis.
