I agree with Helen. I'm not Russian. I'm from Moldova, an ex-soviet country, and I thank God that the soviet union doesn't exist anymore and we can speak our own language and be free, almost free. From the day when it formed, the USSR it was clear that it would fail, because you can't keep 15 countries together, taking away their language, culture, traditions and religion against their will. I personally have a positive opinion about Gorbaciov, though he wasn't the only one responsible for the collapse of ussr.

My wife is from Russia, and she hates the collapse of the Soviet Union. She wish everything was still the same, she says in the Soviet days life was better and the country was strong, and the people had a lot of pride. She says if it was still the Soviet Union, she would have never left.
Randem says
How could anyone blame Gorbachev? The real collapse of the Soviet Union was the 20 years of ruin led by Brezhnev.
Helen says
i'm ukrainian and i'm happy, that the Soviet Union is over! on this reason i like Gorbachev. but i don't think he's done it on purpose.

He is simple very known pensioner right now. But yes,we deslike him for his reformations like to cut off all wine grapes, censore on vegets and fruit trees in dacha(vegets-fruit trade) and other crap which he liked to do in country.
