Question by Patrick S: Is it true that the Russians have a militaristic culture?
I remember when I play Civilizations 3,one of the characteristics the Russian civilization has is militaristic. In Civilizations 3 when you have a militaristic civilization,it is easier to builld military defenses and recruit more troops and it easier for military units to rise in veterancy.Additionally military units such as tank and infantry are far stronger in battle and have higher health and moral than those of non militaristic nations.
Were the Russians really a militaristic people?

Patrick, please read some Russian writers in order to try to understand the Russian culture. Read Leo Tolstoy, Dostoevsky, Lermontov, Solzhenitsin. Also, read History and you will find that Russia practically never (ever) attacked another nation, but always had to defend herself (and did it always successfully).
