I dont think Russia will be foolish or greedy enough to go all the way to another Euopean country other than Georgia.
NATO and USA will certainly not tolerate it, if it ever comes to that. Russians love their children too, so they will not risk another world war which this time will involve nuclear weapons.

If we refrain from putting missiles there, there shouldn't be a problem in Poland. But I suspect we will, and they will just put missiles in Belarus and cut oil and natural gas supplies to Europe in order wreck its economy.

I don't know at this point.
PS: If Russia fully invades Georgia (something that is appearing more likely by each passing minute), I think that will put the EU and NATO/US alliance in an akward position to respond….

It was Georgia that attacked South Ossetia. Russia came to her defense afterwards.

He won't invade Poland. But you're basically correct. In order for NATO to get militarily involved in anything other than peacekeeping operations after a ceasefire is already agreed upon, Russia would actually have to attack a NATO member country. Georgia is not a member of NATO.
