The AK was designed so that literally anybody could figure it out with absolutely no previous weapon experience- a trade-off for its overall crappy performance. This is a major reason why so many militias field them- so that they can literally hand people a weapon and kick them out onto the street.

My unit gave us a class on different aks' made by different countries.
Taught us how to disassemble and reassemble them.
Let us shoot em too. Pretty accurate if its on semi. Sucks if its auto. Kinda like the m4… alot lighter though…

The fundamentals of marksmanship apply to all weapons, no matter what they are. Soldiers and especially Marines are taught basic or advanced (the Marines) marksmanship, which would also apply to the AK47 as well as the M16. The only fundamental difference in shooting the two would be the sight picture, as the M16 uses aparature sights and the AK uses traditional iron sights. In the field, if there is a good possiblility you will encounter these weapons lying around, they will usually give you a familiarization class on them so that you can handle, clear, and if need be use them safely. But, it's not something you learn at boot camp. That would be something your unit carries out on it's own.
Bobby, you're a putz, and your moms a whore! Army guys shoot out to 300 yards at knock down targets which are man size silhouettes. We shoot out to 500 yards at a 12 inch circle, the modified dog target, and then the man size 500 yard target. And, I'm perfectly happy with my penis size. It's a super tight fight in your mom's big @ss! Her labia looks like sun dried roast beef!

Not much training needed.. a monkey could operate it an maintain it as proof in whats going on around the world. Operation wise If you can fire one automatic weapon, you can pretty much operate all…. You just need to work on your marksmanship.
EDIT: "GLOCKTHR…" Really "advanced marksmanship" really? Who are you trying to fool??? Hahaha, thats why I love you Marines, no one loves you guys more then yourselves!!! Haha, get a life dude. No matter how much you try to talk yourself up, your penis is going to remain the same size.
James says
An AK-47 is easy to use. It does not require any special training.
Soumya says
I think the AK is a really easy weapon to use so little or no training is necessary. Of course getting adjusted to its high-recoil low-accuracy nature may take a little time.
