1 – Peter and Paul Fortress
The famous St. Petersburg fortress is both a nice place to walk around and an interesting sight. In winter locals sunbathe next to the fortress walls… funny sight…

2 – Palace Square, Winter Palace, Hermitage, Admiralty and Around
The main square of St. Petersburg. That's where the 1917 revolution happened…

3 – Isaac Cathedral & Around Isakievskaya Ploschad
The most impressive cathedral of St. Petersburg, great view over the city.

4 – Along Nevsky Prospekt: Kazan Cathedral, Church of the Saviour, Gostiny Dvor
The main avenue of St. Petersburg and many beautiful cathedrals.

5 – The Summer Gardens and Surrounds
A great place for a summer afternoon stroll or a picknick. Lots of beautiful buildings and quiet corners.

6 – Alexander Nevsky Monastery and Necropolis
The oldest and most important monastery of St. Petersburg.

    7- Vasilievsky Spit
The other side of St. Petersburg. Currently an area popular among students, has lots of interesting landmarks.

    8 – Petrogradsky Ostrov
See the famous Aurora Cruiser — the symbol of communist revolution.

    9 – The Vyborg Side
The area around Finlandsky Station is a bit off the standard track, but provides some interesting sights as well.

    Outside St. Petersburg: Peterhof, Pushkin
For a trip outside of town head to Peterhof palace and Pushkin. Not too far from the center, they will allow you to experience what Imperial Russia was like…
