Have you got any favourite films by Andrei Tarkovsky?

Question by migh: got any favourite films/recommendations by Andrei Tarkovsky?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrei_Tarkovsky

i’ve only seen ‘Solaris’… and although a little slow in parts i found it fascinating and liked it very much… http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solaris_(1972_film) … the first part actually spooked me a little… not very often that happens in a film… kudos 😉

i’ve got ‘Stalker’ lined up for a sunday viewing… http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stalker_(film) … and was just wondering what others are interesting by this director… got any faves/recommendations?

i’ve been eyeing up ‘Andrei Rublev’ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrei_Rublev_(film) … but it looks heavy going… anyone seen it? any good? i’ll probably watch it anyway ha ha!
thanks for your answer Tamara 🙂 ‘Andrei Rublev’ is really that bad?! reading about it i got the impression it might be a bit boring… no redeeming features tho? ah whatever, i’ll watch it anyways… glutton for punishment 😉

Stalker is my favorite movie by Tarkovsky

I liked Solaris and absolutely hated Andrei Rublev. I wanted to watch it because it was hyped so much, people call it the best Tarkovsky’s movie. It’s not even a mile close to Solaris, and it has nothing on Stalker, for sure.
Andrei Rublev – boring, boring, boring, could you think that Mongols’ attacks and genocide could look boring and stupid. for some reason some directors think that all their movie needs is next to no dialogue, shocking realism and brutal killing – no, a coherent story and storyline would be nice as well.

@ migh: lol, it’s “bad” in my book, but as I said A WHOLE BUNCH OF PEOPLE call it THE BEST movie of Tarkovsky’s, they find it stunning, maybe you’ll be one of those people too 🙂 gotta see it to know it

I love Team America, White Chicks and I think that Sucker Punch is the best movie of 2011 so far 😀
