    It's "epsicopal polity" — the bishops maintain contact with each other in meetings called synods. It's the same with all the Eastern Orthodox. The senior bishops meet together, as well. The senior among them meet also, all the way to the Patriarchs of the various national churches — Russian, Greek, Serbian, etc.
