Question by shelbeth: How are Russian women different from American women?
I have just recently started dating a Russian woman who I met here in the U.S. I really like her and do not want mess things up. I wanted to know a little bit of Russian culture so I can just relate a little more

Russian women are much more resilient and self-sufficient than American women. They don’t take any crap. Don’t ever lie to her or say anything you don’t really mean. She’ll see right through it.

There are a lot of differences. Just try to remain patient and open minded because sometimes she will not be either. You will be pleasantly surprised though because most the differences are BETTER than American women.

Thing is i am british.
so the culture bit.
All i can tell you is this.
There is not a great deal of difference between culture in Russia and culture in the UK. Western Russia is very european.so there will be a difference between American way of life and Russian way of life.
I guess much depends on how long your girlfriend has lived in America.as you do adapt to different places over a period of time.
and adapt to different situations.
I have lived both in Moscow and different parts of the Ukraine ( mostly Kiev and the carpathian area ) and so i can only speak from my personal experience and that of my wife.
Advice is if you are serious about this girl.then get her to show you around Moscow or western Russia.
It will be something you will really enjoy, and you might even get to like Borsche and plemini.Just make sure that when you buy her flowers, you only get them in an odd number,( ie 7 or 9 ) and not an even number, and remember to put your slippers on when you enter the house. lol.
learn to speak some russian, and the words ya tibya lubliu will get serious attention
