    It's dangerous like in any other city around the globe. I've been living here for almost six years and have never had problems. As my friends- Jewish. And I lived in different places and went for walking at nights.

    But at the same time it's very nice here!

    No more dangerous than any other large city – for anyone.

    Use common-sense precautions you would use in any large city and you will be fine.

    There appears to be some backlash against wealthy foreigners. I never experienced any problems living alone in an apartment for a week however. Like any reasonable size city, there are places to avoid.
    I am not a jew though I wonder how they would know unless you tell them?

    not just jews.. blacks, asians, anyone who looks non-russian decent.
    if you "look" russian you might get away with it. stay in safe places, move in a group, maybe get some weapons?
