So they took Anastasia's and her brother Alexei's corpses burned them and smashed the bones, and noticed it went to slow. So they searched another pit and threw the other bodies in there. Anastasia was not among them and thus people believed she lived. But some years ago, they found the other fragments in the other pit, and identified Alexei and Anastasia with DNA tests.

I'm fairly sure that DNA tests proved Anderson was not actually Anastasia.
People speculate that she survived because her body was missing after the execution of the Romanov family; however, I heard somewhere recently that they actually found her body buried along with her brother, Alexi, whose body was also missing.
