I know she’s hot, but she doesn’t have the achievements that lets say Sharapova (who’s also hot) has.

I personally don’t think she ever intended on having a full-time tennis career. She can earn more money promoting fashion and it’s a lot less strenuous. Good luck to her to have found her niche in this world.

For the people who are saying that she was not serious about tennis all I can say is that you don't reach top 8 in world at any competitive activity unless you are very, very serious! Think about it.

Let's see long blonde hair, killer looks, the media and plenty of exposure with magazine covers, it's the perfect formula for a celebrity. I don't know if she even was completely serious about being a tennis player, she really didn't need to be because she made more money selling her looks.

initially she was noticed as a tennis player who happened to be pretty and was winning a few games and making powerful returns of serve the modelling and the fashion that came soon after enhanced her stardom.

When she burst onto the scene there was something about her that captivated the masses. She was unique. There are plenty of hot tennis players out there, but the people don't respond to them as they do with Kournikova.
