The Tsarina, Alexandra grew to trust Rasputin because he claimed to have holy powers. He was the only one who helped their son Alexi (suffering from Hemophelia) not feel sick. What Alexandra didn't know, is that Rasputin, while claiming to be holy, was actually tricking her. The reason that Alexi got better around Rasputin was not because of any mystical powers that he has, but it was because Rasputin shooed Alexi's doctors away. The doctors had been giving Alexi aspirin (which acts as a blood thinner). Since the doctors didn't know that they were giving Alexi a medication that made his thin-blood illness worse, every time Rasputin shooed them away to perform some "miracle," he was stopping the doctors, but not helping Alexi in any holy-related way.
