Question by Mr.LandHeart: How do I comply with Federal Firearms Law with my AK-47?
I have am AK-47 Pistol (Draco) and there is a barrel nut welded over the barrel threads.
I did some online searches and couldn’t find anything dated AFTER the assault-weapon ban expired in 2004.
I want to know if I can take the barrel nut off and NOT weld anything permanently onto the barrel as these older websites suggest.
Is there still a federal law I must comply with about the AK threaded barrel or was the law overturned?

There is nothing Federally prohibiting you from doing so.
Make sure you aren't in a state with additional bans.
For instance, in California you can't have a semi-automatic pistol that accepts a detachable magazine and a threaded barrel on it without something welded in place or covering the threads. Other states have similar legislation.

There have been no new regulations ever since the old ban sunsetted. You can remove that nut if you know how.
