Question by Rayna: How do I write in the style of Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn?
He wrote a day in the life of Ivan Denisovich. I need to try to mimic his style for five pages– it’s my summer reading project. And so far, all I can get from the text is that he wrote in the third person and often added his own thoughts into the text, writing around the action.

To enter the illusive all omniscience of the Voice, you have to take
the time to outline what you do NOT want, along with the
goals of the book. Make a topic outline. Write those things
on a throw away paper you do not want. This previous knowledge
of your text will help you establish the language of voice.
Voice is you, it is you with the inner humility to tell the truth, to
be funny, to be certain, to be informative. Key issue here is to use
language dialect of the location, like you live where the action is
taking place. Also use characters that are understood by yourself
to be what you need them to be.
