If u r an upper class Russian, u need to be in touch with the Russian Nobility Association…Ithink they r in New York…but, above all, u need to be i touch with the Romanoffs family ANYWAY, as u belong to them at least as a loyal subject! They DO have websites and they ARE trying to get the Russian monarchy restored. U should be supporting them…google like Russian Monarchists and stuff till u track them down. Whether u r actualy a member of the dynasty or not, u need to get in touch with your people and back them so they can get their throne back. If u r their actual relative, they r the people best able to figure the details out!

Have your family tree traced by a professional genealogist.

If you disdain the serfs and have a constant craving for caviar, you just might be related.

Go ask them.

Genealogist.
What makes you think you're related to them? Is that your surname? Does someone in your ancestry claim that is a fact?

I have been told by my Grandmother that we are related to the Romanov's. I do not know if this is true or not. My mother explained that her Grandfather (her mother's father) had escaped from Russia as the murders were taking place. My Grandmother was born in 1917. I read some where on the net that Nicholas had an affair with an actress named Matilda. I am wondering if we could be related out of wedlock. My Grandmother had died in 1996. My Mother says shes doesn't know of any stoiries of such. So there is noone left to check. Please how can I find out. I do not what anything from the family other then the truth if we are related. Would like to know the history is all. You know…no fame or fortune stuff. Just the knowledge. Thank you.

A lot of Romanovs did get out of Russia, and their descendants are now scattered all over the world. I went to school with one.
But most members of the family, the descendants of the refugees from the Revolution, know exactly who they are — and who their relatives are. If you just think you MIGHT be related, chances are that you are not.
But it's possible that you have some connection that precedes the Revolution. To figure this out,you really need to talk to a professional genealogist, someone with experience at tracing Russian aristocratic and royal roots.

Hmm… I don't actually think that you can do much except question family members (preferably grandparents who'll be able to go back a few generations). And perhaps check out the Romanov family tree to see if any of them branched off into more modern families. Other than that, there's not much else you can do.
