How does caviar taste?

Question by Shoes are my best friend: How does caviar and escargot taste?
I really want to try it. I would also want to all the types of caviar. I am more familiar with the black and orange colored caviar. Its ok if if it taste fishy because I really like sushi, shrimp, and lobster. Aslo how does escargot taste. I’ve heard that it taste like oil and garlic and that it’s very slimey. Sorry for my terrible spelling
I forgot to say, how much do they cost?

escargot tastes like bitter mushrooms if you dont season it well. caviar is mushy and bitter with too. you need to have someone prepare them well

Escargot is usually very buttery and chewy. Caviar is salty, a little slimy, and bursts in your mouth when you eat it. They're both very good.

i have no idea what the types are or what escargot tastes like but I go to my local russian supermarket and you can get several types and actually try some of it. it's usually around $ 20 a pound but it tastes amazing: it's salty and fishy and really good. I actually eat it on buttered bread and it's AMAZING

I also find caviar salty (too much so!) and escargot chewy but delicious. Escargot is almost like undercooked bacon.

Caviar is salty and pops in your mouth. It's not fishy – it's just salty.

And escargot is generally cooked with lots of butter and garlic and that's pretty much what you taste. It is not slimy, in fact it's a little chewy.

    Hope that helps.
