1) If you own a small 1-bedroom apartment, utilities cost 3,000 RUR per month (~$ 100)
2) If you rent the same apartment, then it costs 25,-30,000 RUR (~$ 800-1,000) per month
3) If you want to buy the same apartment it would cost you from 4,500,000 RUR (~$ 150,000), but only once, and then you pay utilities.
So, no, you can’t survive in Moscow for $ 100-200 per month. If you own a n apartment a decent life starts from 25,000 RUR (~$ 800) per month per person. Average salary in Moscow is $ 1,300 per month (38,000 RUR).
