How important is the Russian Far East and Siberia to the economy of Russia?

Question by dirk_vermaelen: How important is the Russian Far East and Siberia to the economy of Russia? (% GDP)?

I found numbers between 5-7% for the Russian Far East alone. Siberia would account for 70% of Russian oil however (?). So i don’t know…

there live 40 millions,gas,oil industry,heavy industry(like planes),gold,diamond mines,wood,fish. In % i dont know,it could be 40%.
