How long did the Mongols stay?

Question by indianrav61893: How long did the Mongols stay in Russia?
I am doing a history project on Russia. I know that Russia was at one point under Mongol control, but not how long or how they left. If you guys have any solutions or ideas that would be great. Thanks.

I would say that they probably didn’t just pack up and leave, but rather I believe they just intermarried into the slavs in the area already. The Golden Horde, the Mongol government, lasted from about the 1240’s to 1502. Jack Weatherford’s book has some background about Genghis Khan and towards the end gives some brief insight into the invasion of Rus. I would also suggest “Russia and the Golden Horde” by C. J. Halperin. It’s a very interesting subject.
