Question by Phil A: How many miles separates Alaska USA and Siberia Russia at the closest point ?
And is there a sea border in the Bearing Straight between both or is there an international zone between the two countries ?
Thanks what, I really meant is there a border between the two that is neither part of the USA or Russia ? Or if on the sea are you technically in Russia one second and in the USA the next?

Generally, the borders of a country run from land out to sea for 12 nautical miles (22.227 kilometers). So any part of the Bering Sea that is further than that from both countries, is considered international waters.
But between mainland Russia and Big Diomede Island is only 19.2 nautical miles, and between USA and Little Diomede Island is only 19.5 nautical miles. So trying to go up the Bering Strait (not "Bearing Straight") from the Pacific into the Arctic ocean, you would have to enter either Russia or the US. Ships have the right of "innocent passage" here.
