Question by Ashie: How much $ should I expect to spend on a visit to Russia?
I’m flying from California to Russia sometime this winter, to go visit family. How much should I expect to spend on a ticket?
Also, eating out at restaurants?
Movies?
Shopping?
How much “Fun” money should I have on hand?

It depends on where in Russia you are visiting.
For example, Moscow is one of the most expensive cities in the world. So obviously you would need at least like $ 500-$ 700 as fun money if you wanna go out and shop, etc.
Just as an example, a regular Nike t-shirt would cost around $ 60 from GUM (shopping centre in Moscow).
However, the rates are not that bad in other cities.

Actually since you are staying with family, the "expensive" part of your trip will be avoided. In Moscow the prices for everything else will be about the same as in Cali on average, some things like transport cheaper. Don't expect to buy cheap clothes but most other things (food, movies, entertainment) are about the same prices.
