Question by : How should i address my Russian friend’s parents?
I will be attending my Russian girl friend’s wedding as a bridesmaid next month in another country.
Her parents and family from Vladivostok, Russia will be present as well
I am not sure how traditional they are but please could anyone tell me how to address her parents, aunts, uncles??
I do not want to appear disrespectful at all.
PS: I’m asian and in our culture there is always a ‘right’ and respectful way to address any elder.
I’ll definitely have to ask her!!
thank you guys!!
Yeah, i’m a little reserved around my friend’s parents anyway, no swearing, no being loud and decent clothes so it could work.

Comrade!
Seriously, though, why not just ask HER about the proper way to address them? She’ll be flattered that you have thought about it and are being so considerate.

Just say 'Hello' and act really polite. I am Russian myself and I know that if my parents were just addressed with 'Hello' and somebody acted really polite around them, they would be really pleased and think that you are generally a nice person.

Coming from a Russian family, I'd say, come up to them and just say hello and act like you have manners. You can possibly start a conversation with them or just act polite. Even if you act shy, they might think you're a very nice girl. As long as you make sure to say hello and smile a lot. There really isn't a specific way to do this.. be polite and have manners is all I can really say.
