How to care for Russian Pine?

Question by Sassafrass AKA: SASSY: Anyone know how to care for Russian Pine?
My kitchen table is made out of Russian Pine. It’s very pourous & has lost it’s luster. Any suggestions as to how to get it’s luster back? I’ve used Murphy’s already, didn’t do much. Oh ya & that Pledge all in one cleaner too…nothing.

Wow thats a good question, I am not sure but I would think the same way as any pine…but to be 100% sure I would say to go to the place that you bought it and ask, or even go to a dealer that sells it and ask. or go to http://www.russianpine.com/ and click the contact info and call them and ask…

good luck

I know that pledge puts a wax on it (it doesn't treat the wood and may have to be removed). All I know is that after wood is stained and dried then a plastic coating could be put on it (or maybe varnish), but why not ask at your nearest Home Depot?

Sounds as if you have cleaned the table. You can buy Restor-aFinish in the color you need. Follow directions on the can. Then apply a good paste wax. You should be able to find these products in an Antique store or possibly in an Unfinished store.
