Question by Bert & Ernie: How can I fix the gap around the stock of my AK 47?
I removed the wood stock from my AK 47 and replaced it with a Command Arms Composite/aluminum stock. The only problem is, there is a gap about 3/16″ around the stock. This was there when the wood stock was on as well. I want to fill this gap. How can I or what should I use? Plaese help.
PS – Please dont tell me to gunsmith as I will not go that route. Thanks

There is the right way and the wrong way to do this.
The correct way is to go buy an Accurglass Kit – does not matter if it is a glass or gel kit. Be sure to put the blue release agent on the metal side!! Mix up the stuff, be sure to add some fiberglass strands, add the color agent, apply, and remove as much excess as possible. After 24 hours you can sand it – a dab a oil will make it dark again if you mixed it to be black.
Accraglass is strong stuff. If you do not use the blue release agent you may never get this gun apart again in your lifetime.
The wrong way to do this is hack off what ever metal is causing the problem unless you know for sure it is a defect. Another wrong way is to skip the Accurglass and go right to a bondo like filler.
