Question by Jess: How do I do a persuasive speech to make people like Russia?
I’m supposed to do a persuasive speech tomorrow and our teacher wants it to be interesting and funny. We’re supposed to make whatever country we’re assigned sound good and make people want to go there. I got Russia. xD
How am I supposed to be funny and make Russia sound good at the same time? I really want to get a good grade, please help me make this speech good!
Oh, and if you know any jokes about France being bad, tell me because I’m up against France and we’re supposed to make the other country sound bad.

I don’t know how much you know about Russia or how much research you’ve already done, but there are a very few things that Russia is known for. Try to stay away from the power controlling leaders as much as possible. Things that are potentially funny that you might be able to use: vodka, communism/socialism, athletic talents.
Communism and socialism go hand in hand with Russia, as I’m sure you know, and not everything about socialism is bad, usually how people misuse the policies of communism is what turns communist countries into power hungry dictatorships.
Vodka producing can be funny and actually give information at the same time. Most high school teachers might discourage talking about drinking in class but your teacher has probably had a drink at some point so that one is a judgment call.
Play with stereotypes. The female Russian weight lifter is often made fun of, but there are also mail order brides that come from Russia.
Like the U.S. Russia puts quite a bit of effort into supporting athletics, especially for large competitions (like the Olympics). If you draw connections to famous athletes to Russia it might make it more appealing.
I don’t know if any of this helps.
