    BAH-boosh-kuh (using English sounds). The stress is on the first syllable.

    Babushka means "Grandmother" in Russian. And you say it they way you would read it with a stress on the first syllable.

    I am not sure this is what you think it means though… As far as I know there is a misunderstanding in English language that people think it means a "doll"… Those dolls are actually called "Matreshka" in Russian.

    Iguess "babushka" is originally russian, by english you may say:multible woodwork of different size of woman, = taht can be placed into each other.
    By short term: ethnic art.
