What is the best way to ship a bike to Russia?
I need to ship a bike (actually a 36″ unicycle) to Russia. I was wondering if there is a problem with customs in shipping bikes and things to Russia and also what would be the most economical route. A couple years ago I tried to send a computer here, and it was turned away due to customs violations.
If anyone has experience in shipping bikes (or unicycles) overseas please let me know how successful you were and what the best option for doing it would be.

Yes, for you its easy just send it by parts or find a partner who has expirience on it.
custom formalities is not a very "user friendly".
About laptops here is quote – $ 1000 per mounth so if you parcel costs more – most reasonable way is to divide laptopf for two parts – one parcel with battery and anothe with "used non working leptop" and ofcouse both less then $ 1000.
If your bike`s price is much more then $ 1000 then better try sambody like this: http://injapan.ru/cookies.html?backurl=http://inj…

Best way: Send it UPS. They take care of the custom work, and deliver anywhere in Moscow. Doing it yourself is just stupid, why argue with Russian Customs.

(1) Put this in the Travel – Russia category.
(2) Look up Russian customs laws and see what they have to say.
