Question by : is gorbachev a key leader in the fall of the Berlin wall?

yes. his policy of Glastnost and Perestroika created such openness that people were allowed openly question the Soviet System and was a huge step away from totalitarianism that kept Eastern Europeans trapped. Although he never meant for it to result in the eventual collapse of the USSR.
