Question by quintus: How difficult is it to visit Russia?
Does anyone know the current requirements for visiting Russia from the US? I’ve checked the Consulate website but the information seems vague. I don’t want to invest in a ticket to end up getting deported!

You should visit russian consulate and possibly get a visa right on the spot. Sometimes it is hard to get hold of anyone over the phone (I know it is a pain).

Its not difficult to visit Russia.
You will need a visa though, but provided you have no criminal record it is straight forwards.
Just download the visa application form from the Russian consular website and send it off with the visa fee and your passport..
