Question by mateo2583: Is it legal to ship an iPad from the United States to Russia and if so what is the best method?
I sold an iPad on ebay and the guy who bought it lives in Russia and I want to make sure its legal. I charged 25.00 for shipping, I also want to know how much it would be.

Wait a while to make sure any payment clears.
Unfortunately, Russia is known for online scams.
Ebay/Paypal will even reverse stuff on you too.
If it is not shipping to the billing address, cancel the order and refund any monies. If you ship it, use FedEx (or UPS which is a bit cheaper) and request signature delivery. DO NOT use the post office. It will take forever and could get lost.

I sold my iPad on ebay to someone in Russia. I sent it insured via US Priority mail and it arrived in customs in Russia on Jan 8th, 2011. The customer never received the item so I went through the USPS hoops to claim from insurance. I was just notified that my claim has been denied on the basis that I sent a prohibited item. I checked the apple store website and it appears that the iPad is on sale in Russia, so I have no idea how it could be considered prohibited, but I am out of pocket and although I am appealling the claim denial I am not hopeful of success. I suggest you do not take the risk of sending your iPad to Russia.
