depends on where u live. u can do it but its not to smart i rather have it semi. u waste to much ammo and it would cost alot
Judge says
yes you can but do you really wanna risk it?
i mean if you do it yeah you will have a fully auto gun but if you get caught you will be dealing with bubba telling you to c0ck his gun for him.
not worth it pal
the long shot says
Yes you can and then you will go to jail. Best not to be asking these questions. Stay away from sights that show you how. Some are tracked by the authorities. I knew a guy who accidentally made a M14 automatic by messing up the trigger mechanism by lightening the pull. Not a pretty sight and not recommended.

It’s not illegal to read about how an atom bomb is made. It’s an interesting part of American history and science. It’s illegal to posses a fully auto not the knowledge used in making one. It’s sad when pussy Americans start monitoring there speech for fear of big brother knocking down the door based merely on there curiosity and some internet searches. You my friend are a pussy.

step #1 is contact the ATF and get all the paperwork and tax forms for becoming a FFL Type 7
Type 7 Title 1 manufacturer of firearms, who can also act as dealer, other than Destructive Devices, ammunition and ammunition components other than Armor Piercing ammunition. Can also manufacturer & deal in Title II NFA firearms with class 2 tax stamp.
then you get yourself your SOT tax stamp
and then you can 'manufacture' one to be used as a sales demo by converting an AK

yes and no, some AK rifles are made specifically for semiautomatic fire and cannot be converted to select fire function. Others can be converted to fire semi and full auto.
if your rifle came with a faulty sear it is a possible to have the rifle fire full auto all the time (which isn't select fire and the gun isn't safe to use) by slam firing every round chambered.
Most regular military AK rifles converted to comply with USA laws can be converted back to select fire mode or full auto only. This is highly illegal and cannot be done without a very special and rare bit of paper from the US government. If you wish to have a select-fire capable AK47 rifle either buy it legally (about $ 25k) or rally enough people to force the 1986 gun control act to be repealed.

Yes. Should you? No.
The civilian semi-auto versions of AK's, SKS and AR and other rifles are quite different inside than the military versions. Conversion is both difficult and dangerous. A botched conversion usually results in a firearm that goes full auto when the trigger is pulled and does not stop when the trigger is released – you have to wait for it to run out of ammo. That – and the chambered round can sometimes fire before the bolt is properly locked – this is due to timing errors – and it blows up in your face.
Any attempt to modify a semi-auto to full auto is going to get you in trouble. Big trouble. The kind of trouble that sticks with you for the rest of your life.
As someone who has allot of 'trigger time' with full auto rifles – I can assure you they are not as cool as the movies make them out. I would rather have a semi-auto with controlled fire that actually hits the target and drops it – than full auto that simply scares the target and wastes a 30rd mag.
CURIOUS GEORGE says
Actually it can be done, but I would seriously not do it. The BATF a government agency that oversees federal firearms laws prohibit any semi to full auto conversions since May 19, 1986. Any conversion after that is considered illegal and can put you in federal jail for a long time.
eddieroachr says
yes but as soon as the local police hear the fire you will be under the jail,,, if not short life on other components
Gregory H says
yes but you will probably spend ten years in jail if the ATF catch you doing it and ammo for an ak47 is expensive as it is anyways, so why. They have conversion kits that allow you to change the firing mode but i say again it is not worth it , no way should you do that unless you are a complete idiot
Obnoxious Deviant says
Yes its possible but you would have to buy a conversion kit-cost u thousands so just bump fire it!
OkieRoadhunter says
Yes, you can. Search using Yahoo or Google on "AK 47 Full Auto Conversion", and you'll find hundreds of links. Some will have books, some will even have parts.
wvhunter129 says
Yes and No! Yes you can but why? No, not unless you have the appropriate license to own a fully automatic rifle.
People who do this are the ones that make gun owners look bad. If you want one so bad, get the license and then buy one that is already fully auto. Again though why do you want to have a fully auto?
If you want to shoot a fully auto go to a shooting club that offers members a chance to shoot fully auto weapons. Or better yet join the military and you can shoot them all day.
We don't need people making the rest of us law abiding gun owners look bad.
donearguingwithidiot says
It is very illegal. You are in a public forum asking if anyone will tell you how to comitt a felony. Contrary to the rants and paranoia of the gun control crowd, the overwhelming majority of gun owners are law abiding citizens. We won't tell you how to commit a crime.
Chris M says
People are ignorant. Yes you can. Yes you can do it legally. Several ways:
1) Buy pre ban parts and use em to convert it which will run around 10k.
2) Get a class 2 license than you can manufacture machine guns. Cost is 1k a year after going through extensive background checks.
3) Bump fire that badass.
Michael says
you would be violating a number of state and federal laws. years and years in prison.
You would be better off just pulling the trigger real fast.
Messianic Jew says
NO NO, bad boy!! Go to jail. Very long time.
RDG78 says
Don't do it, unless you want to become somebody's prison wife.
falcon5nz says
Can you? Yes.
Should you? No. Ignoring the legal issues as I'm not a lawyer, You burn through more ammo for no gain. You obviously can't hunt with it and if you want to shoot targets you WILL have trouble keeping the rifle on the target, not to mention your groups will be atrocious.
