I’ve studying the Russian Revolution in School right now and I’ve never heard of this, its not in my text books or the other historical texts I have read. As far as I know they where tricked into thinking that they where to be moved to another safer location and they where gunned down. Nicholas the first to die. The girls where wearing dresses with diamonds sewn into them so they where not shot but speared to death by bayonet.
Probably just a anti Bolshevik rumor. If this where true one of my text books, which is rather anti-communism and Bolshevik, would have mentioned this.

Not according to the eyewitness accounts I’ve read. But than, that is probably not something they would admit to. However, I suspect this accusation falls under the category of historical myth and is not true. The executioners wanted the victims to cooperate until the hammer fell, and raping the women would be a give-away that something more unpleasant was about to happen.
