Do you believe Russia is waging a indirect war with America?
By supplying arms to Iran, witch in turn arms the insurgency in Iraq?
But in 2005, Putin sold 1 billion USD worth of arms to Iran.
Who in turn- armed Hezbolla, and the insurgency in Iraq.

So you are trying to say that russia is making money by selling weapons to whoever wants to fight US technology? You MAY be right, i really dont know.
I would start thinking from the fact that nobody wants to spend money on weapons if they have no use for them.
Sorry, man, I read some bbc articles now … It DOES seem that russia may be heavily cooperating with Iran.
Russian military production facilities are under EXTREMELY tight control. Arms suppliers though , are a different story. Whenever you find russian produced weapons in middle east or african countries, they are not sold by russian GOVERNMENT. Weapons go missing in russia every day. There have been instances where nuclear weaponry has gone missing in russia and nobody knows anything.
There are smart people in russian government and nobody is actively promoting war in the world. Putin is far from being an all-powerful person is russia. although his only objective is to leave an impression that he is.
They do invest in new military technology just like USA does, but selling that technology to “rogue” countries would be stepping against UN and europe, which Russia CANNOT afford to do.

So what else is new. We've had a proxy war with the Russians since Korea, Vietnam, Yom Kippur, Afganistan, and now Iran.

Rat is correct. Russia has quietly and in the past few monthes not so quietly been selling arms ( to include jets and tanks ) to any scumbag or raghead that has $ $ $ $ $ $ to include Iran. Funny thing though, the Chechyns are allied with A.Q. and the Taliban, Russia and Chechyns dont get along,Russia & terrorists now seem to get along, havent heard much @ terrorists in Russia in a while????

who has ever said that they stopped???? everyone believes that the cold war is over but they forgot to tell the russians who by the way are modernizing their icbms to evade any countermeasures that we can come up with. sounds to me like the russians are doing everything possible outside of an actual shooting war, to be in one. i don't trust putin at all. as far as the arms sales go, the russians will sell anything to anybody if they have the money and that includes terrorist organizations like hezbollah, hamas, al-queda, and abu sayyef.

No, they are just selling semi-obsolete weapons to buyers ! Remember most of the weaponry floating around the middle east [ indeed the world ] originally came directly or indirectly from the U.S. The Russians have nothing to gain from de-stabilizing U.S., they are steadily becoming a capitalist country themselves. Are you indulging in more U.S. paranoia ? Most of the world does NOT hate you !!

Always have, always will. And the US was the first country to help them, when they folded. Putin is a paranoid scum bag. I
mean he was the head of the KGB.

I think it would be pretty naive not to assume they'd like to compete with us. Why wouldn't they?
Or to assume they would naturally make enemies with every nation Dubya declares "evil." Why should they?
Or to assume they wouldn't capitalize -to the hilt- on any humongous b0ner Bush managed to pull on himself while in office. Why the he11 wouldn't they do that?
None of which adds up to war as far as I know.
You think many nations would just naturally defer to every stupid move Bush makes, out of common courtesy?
As for us "helping" Russia, is that what we were doing in Afghanistan all through the 80s?
And did they ever send us a great big "thank you" for that? I don't recall.
Oh yeah, and, just for laughs, lets say Russia WAS waging some kind of secret war on us.
You got some slick strategy for dealing with that, Patton?
That doesn't involve getting half the planet nuked, I mean, including your run down town?
Or getting your personal but shipped out to somewhere around, oh say, Stalingrad, maybe? Around Christmastime?
Well maybe you should mail your master plan on over the white house then. They're the ones who've put the US into this position.
And as far as I can tell, they have no idea what to do now that they've got us here.
