Question by Deniz C: Is Russian song “Katyusha” releated to Tolstoy’s novel Resurrection?
One of Resurrection’s main characters is also named Katyusha/Katusha (English spelling depends), also there are some mutual words or it sounds like that, and I wonder if “lyubov” (it was the nickname of Katusha in the book) and “lyubila” (it’s a word I picked up from the song) are releated words. I don’t speak Russian at all and I’m probably wrong but I just wondered if the composer was inspired by the book. Story also seems to be alike. Thanks!

Yes, “lyubov” (Cyrillic: любовь) means “love”.
Lyubila = (fem.) “loved”.
Lyobov was a popular way of saying “sweetheart” back in the day.
I am not sure what song you are talking about since you did not state the composer, but most likely it’s a coincidence since both the name and the expression is very popular.
By the way, you have a good taste in literature!
