Is the body of Lenin at his Mausoleum real?

Question by CHRIS M. IS [TURNED INTO A NEWT]: Is the body of Lenin on display at his Mausoleum real?
His family and Wikipedia claim that it is real. I read an article on TIME Magazine, and heard “in Stalin’s own words” (on some documentary where you can only assume that what is being said are the words of these dictators) that the body on display if a fake- Lenin was cremated. Which is true?

Probably true, I’ve seen it but without DNA testing or such it would be impossible to tell. I’m sure what’s left of him if it is him is so saturated with preservatives, embalming fluids that’s he’s more chemicals than anything else. Would be nice to see some investigative journalist have his body dragged out and tested.

Yes, it's true. Every night they give him a chemical bath to preserve the body. There are many Russians these days who are trying to let him die because it costs too much.

Yes, it is real. At the end of the Soviet Union they decided to find out for sure. There is so much arsenic and mercury in his body that it is doubtful that it will decay for a thousand years.

There are several very good articles on this in Russian.
