Is there a way to cook Pierogi without them sticking to the pan?

Question by J L: Is there realliy a way to cook Pierogi without them sticking to the pan?!?
I have frozen ziplocs of Pierogi’s from a local church sale, and I cannot figure out how to make them without losing most of them to the bottom of my frying pan. They come “fully cook” by having been boiled, and the filling is cheese and potato. They are well buttered up, and I even slathered the pan with olive oil, and used a non-stick pan, and they still stuck to the bottom! My instructions say to pan fry them until they are golden brown, but I have to take them off the medium heat way before then just to try to salvage some of them from the bottom of the pan. Is there another way to fix pierogi besides pan frying? Or, is there a trick to pan-frying them?! Please, I want to eat these things but it’s not easy!
ah, no, I am not thawing first. Should I thaw first?!

you can always deep fry them or bake them, but pan fried is the best. i feel like evoo is a bad idea… this is pierogi— you HAVE to use butter. the trick is to cook them low & slow…. good luck and enjoy!

Probably thawing would help. Try using a low heat for a longer time, too. Lots of butter, low heat, give it time.

You're doing everything right except the Olive Oil, its a heat conductor and is too hot for your delicate Pierogi's. I would suggest using butter, or bacon drippings, you could also saute up some onions and bacon in butter before you cook your Pierogi's and that flavor will season your pan, help them not to stick and add more flavor to this wonderful Starch! Hope these suggestions help you to enjoy your local church sale purchase!

I have always boiled mine frst but if they have already been boiled then you wouldn't want to do boil them for sure. Maybe thaw completly then fry/saute with plenty of butter.

my husbands father came from Ukraine and the same type of food is called vereniky there(not sure if the spelling is right)but the way to cook them was to place them in boiling water for approx 6-9mins and when they floated to the top they were cooked.i love the themfilled with cheesy mash and covered with backfat,(fattening but delicious)

Are thawing them first- also you can add a little water while you are getting them up to temp- then add lots of butter, onions and mushrooms
