Question by zztopspin: What does October 12 deal with in 20th century Russian history?
Also, what is their independence day?
My assignment was to find out the significance of Oct. 12 and Rebellion day (which they call Midsummer Day in the book). The book resembles the Russian Revolution.
If you haven’t guessed the book yet, it is Orwell’s “Animal Farm”.
By independence day, I mean when the Bolsheviks took over. When it was final that they were in charge.

The Russian October Revolution which put the Bolsheviks in power occured in October 1917 but on the 25th was the actual uprising. So the month is important, but I don’t think the 12 has any significance.
