I personally liked "What Men Live By" and "After the Dance"; classic Tolstoy. If you want a bit longer reading (but not novel length) the Kreutzer Sonata is a novella and quite excellent. Here's a list of a few I found online, both my faves are here, as well as some others, and you can read them online free by clicking on it. Enjoy, and I love that the Russian's haven't been forgotten in today's readings!
