Something that is big in Russian culture?

Question by little lulu: Something that is passed down in Russian culture?
I have an assignment due next week in class where I need to find something that is typically passed down in a Russian family or something that is big in Russian culture. I just need to print out pictures of the item, bring them in to class and talk about it for 2 min. I was thinking about Matryoshka dolls, but I’m not sure they are passed down. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I did a little looking and I would agree with you that the Russian Dolls are not really passed down however they are part of Russian culture. This is not an easy task. Folk tales are a part of Russian Culture that are passed down orally (as in spoken) but it is not something that you can show in a picture like the dolls can be. I have given you a couple of wiki links and I hope you find them useful.
