Question by catfish: What are the current clothing fashions in Russia?
Im going to visit the Ukraine and then Russia in October. Just wondering if anyone has a web link or knowledge of what kind of clothing is fashionable for guys in Russia now. I dont want to appear standoutish wearing current American fashions. Anyone help?

well i was there a couple months ago, and russians wear all american fashions. like i’m serious there is no difference they wear aeropostale and all that.

It really isn't much different from American so don't worry too much about wearing your American clothes. BUT Russian don't wear shorts much unless it's on a beach or something, so that's good to remember =] and Russians are a lot "fancier" women always wear heels and skirts and stuff like that, and that's why men don't usually wear shorts in public, they wear pants or jeans. So other than that, I think you'll be fine in American clothing, I hope I helped =]

be prepared to dress up, even if you're just going to the grocery store. The difference between the way Americans dress and Russians, is that Russians like to look “dressy”, following the latest trends, no matter where they go. (Unlike America, where it is perfectly fine to walk around in your PJ’s…)
